Sometimes my favourite thing to do on a gorgeous sunny day off is wander. And one day I wandered into ARDITH on Roncesvalles.
Not only is the shop beautiful (and I wanted to buy everything inside of it). But I had the loveliest chat with Miranda, the owner, about her inspiring business. And how she has has paired style with fitness, and design with well being.
It's one thing for a shop to hold countless beautiful items, but this one also held a beautiful soul. Not too busy to take the time to talk with me on a busy afternoon. I could feel the passion in her words about the work that she does and the pieces she brings into her space. Everything from unique jewelery, to gorgeous yoga mats, to the comfiest prettiest active wear. It was clear to me that everything was chosen with care and a fantastic eye.
"I couldn’t find a retail store that offered fashionable athletic clothing, so I decided to create one. Ardith is a one-stop destination for workout and leisure wear, with a focus on small, emerging designers."
Inspired by her grandmother 'Ardith', the muse for the store name & brand, she believes that active wear isn't just something that you bring to the gym. But something that can fit into your lifestyle and make you feel beautiful, stylish and comfortable no matter what you're doing.
When asked what gets her up in the morning she says...
"I try to make my health a priority, even if it means getting up at 6 am to squeeze in a morning workout! I love running loops around High Park, and yoga and strength training at Sama Studio."
If you're in the west end of the city, I highly recommend you wander by.
